The short book of Haggai appears in three of the Dead Sea Scrolls Manuscripts – Wadi Murabba’at Minor Prophets (MurXII); 4Q77b (4QXIIb); and 4Q80e (4QXIIe). So as usual, I have transcribed and uploaded all three of them onto the website
(For people that haven’t realised, there are certain “key codes” for the Dead Sea Scroll’s Manuscripts. 4Q stands for “Fourth Qumran Cave” (so therefore “2Q” would stand for “Second Qumran Cave” and so on and so forth), and manuscripts with XII in their title stand for “Twelve” and so refer to “The Twelve Minor Prophets”).

I’ve just finished uploading transcriptions of the 5 manuscripts that contain text from the book of Zechariah among the Dead Sea Scrolls: Wadi Murabba’at; 4Q76a (4QXIIa); 4Q80e(4QXIIe); 4Q82g (4QXIIg); and Nahal Hever Greek Minor Prophets Scroll (8HevXIIgr).
As it happens, this therefore means that I’ve transcribed the whole of the Nahal Hever Greek Minor Prophets Scroll (8HevXIIgr), and so I have combined all of the transcriptions into one volume of the Nahal Hever Greek Minor Prophets Scroll (8HevXIIgr) in PDF form. Previous to the free transcription now available on TWTY, people’s only access to such a complete transcription would be if they bought the $175+ book Discoveries in the Judaean Desert: Volume VIII. The Greek Minor Prophets Scroll from Nahal Hever (8HevXIIgr), which is, as far as I’m concerned, far too expensive of a book to get.
Well, now people have it for free

Transcriptions of all the Dead Sea Scrolls manuscripts regarding the Book of Jonah should now be up on the website.
There are five manuscripts in total: Wadi Murabba’at (MurXII), Nahal Hever Greek Minor Prophets (8HevXIIgr), 4Q76a (4QXIIa), 4Q81f (4QXIIf), and 4Q82g (4QXIIg). Pretty much nearly every single word of the Book of Jonah is extant. Well, at least every verse is accounted for

I have now uploaded PDF’s of the text of Zephaniah as found in the Dead Sea Scrolls manuscripts: Wadi Murabba’at; Nahal Hever Greek Minor Prophets 8HevXIIgr; 4Q77b/4QXIIb; 4Q78c/4QXIIc; and 4Q82g/4QXIIg. That’s now 4 of the 12 Minor Prophets completed, all with comparisons against the accepted text of the Greek Septuagint and Masoretic Hebrew

(As a little funny aside, I was reading along in The Dead Sea Scrolls Bible as I was doing Zephaniah, and in their introduction to Zephaniah, the scholars who did the translation start off with “The four short chapters of Zephaniah are well attested in the scrolls…” The funny thing is, there’s actually only three chapters in Zephaniah, not four

Another new section added to The Way to Yahuweh about 5 minutes ago – Dead Sea Scrolls
On this new page I shall to begin with be putting up PDF files containing transcriptions of the text as seen in the Dead Sea Scrolls, all of which will follow the following format:
Section 1 of the PDF: The text of the Book in question in Chapter and Verse order
Section 2 of the PDF: The text of the Book in question as a direct transcription as seen in the actual scroll from whence it came
Section 3 of the PDF: A comparison between either the Masoretic and the Dead Sea Scroll’s Hebrew text, or between the Greek Septuagint and Dead Sea Scroll’s Greek text, with differences between them highlighted
As it happens, I’ve already completed one PDF to go up – The Hebrew text of the Book of Micah as found in the Wadi Murabba’at Minor Prophets Scroll
It would be remiss if I didn’t mention that this is the only place on the internet where you can download and read a free transcription of some of the text seen in the Wadi Murabba’at Minor Prophet’s Scroll.
Despite being over 60 years since their discovery, the text from the Dead Sea Scrolls are not easy to come by, which is a dreadful shame.
I am seeking to rectify such a hazardous negligence

Bit of an early morning (well, for my time zone anyway) update to TWTY: The Greek Basis of the book of Yahuchanon, and a Transcription and Translation of Papyrus 64 (probably the oldest manuscript to contain text from the eyewitness account of MattithYah/Matthew – in this case the text of Matt 26:7-33).
This means I only have three more Greek Basis to complete: MattithYah, Lucus, and Acts. But as it happens, I’m very much in the mood for doing some more transcriptions and translations of all the oldest known Greek manuscripts of the Renewed Covenant books, so I shall be putting the Greek Basis on hold for the time being. Or knowing me, I’ll probably end up doing it in stages and letting you know when I’ve completed them all fully
Also, as the Dead Sea Scrolls Database was released for Logos Bible Software a couple of months ago (7th of March, to be exact), I have been itching to do a transcription and translation of all the Greek manuscripts that they found amidst the Dead Sea Scrolls, the most significant of which being named 8HevXII gr (which is technically from Nahal Hever, not Qumran), which contains quite a lot of the text of the 12 Minor prophets. I’d like to provide a full transcription and translation of it for this website, and thus allow others who don’t have money to cough up to Logos to be able to have a look at it
Anyway, that is my plan: hopefully I’ll be able to get it all done
